The performer has recently expanded on her previous remarks on the topic in an interview with Mexican writer Enrique Acevedo.
During the interview, she made a remark in Spanish that translates to English as follows: “With my songs I have always felt the need to use my voice and offer it to those who cannot speak.”
Many online saw her quote of Madeline Albright, “There is a place reserved in ɧᴇll for those woмᴇɴ who do not support others,” as an αttαcκ on Gerard’s current girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti.
“I too had the vision of having a family, where the children would have a father and a mother under the same roof,” she continued, referencing the breakdown of her ten-year marriage.
“Life doesn’t always fulfill your ambitions, but it always finds a way to make up for it, and I think with me it has more than made up for it with these two lovely children who fill me with love every day, and I have also discovered that that notion that says a woman needs a man is untrue,” she said.
