Portuguese magazine Journal De Noticias asserts that Manchester United is currently on the hunt for the talented young player Joao Neves. The midfielder is currently part of Benfica’s squad.
The difficulty for Manchester United in this deal is that they will have to compete with Juventus. Furthermore, Benfica is steadfast in its demand that any club interested in Neves must pay €120 million (£109 million) to activate the release clause of the 18-year-old star. The Portuguese club will not entertain any other offers.
Joao Neves, often dubbed as “Bruno Fernandes 2.0,” is considered the future of Portuguese football after the Ronaldo era. He is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes.
