Before moving on to Dinamo Zagreb, where he made his name and eventually secured a transfer to RB Leipzig in 2020, Dani Olmo was a member of the legendary La Masia youth program in Barcelona for a significant amount of time.

Speculations regarding a potential relocation to Catalonia have been circulating for quite some time now, and the severity of these rumors has increased significantly ever since Xavi Hernandez was brought back on board as the manager in 2021.

Olmo is interested in going back to Barcelona.

Due to the club’s current financial status, a relocation has not been possible; nonetheless, it would appear that preparations are being made for anything to take place during the summer of 2024.

According to the source, Olmo has his sights set on a return to Barcelona after the conclusion of the current season at RB Leipzig, and he has expressed his desire to leave the club.

It is believed that the father of the Spanish international footballer, who is 25 years old and plays for the national team, as well as the player’s agent, Andy Bara, have been in communication with the Blaugrana regarding the optimal moment for the footballer to return to the club.

More recently, it is reported that the parties met in private in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup. Shortly after this meeting, he signed an extension with RB Leipzig.

The release clause is for €60 million.

Olmo now has a release clause written into his new deal, and the amount of money it is set at ranges anywhere from €60 million to €65 million, depending on the team that decides to sign him.

The cost will reportedly be set at €60 million for Barcelona, and the Spanish player is expected to join the La Liga winners in the upcoming summer. The source also adds that Barcelona is about to sign the player.

Olmo, who is capable of both scoring and creating, is already familiar with Barcelona’s philosophy, and is versatile, may be an excellent addition to the team, which is something that Xavi has been looking for in another creative presence for the team.

The question of where the La Liga winners will find the money to satisfy his €60 million release clause remains open, but BILD reports that the transfer will take place during the summer.

The Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo has also published an article on the topic, in which they state that Olmo does, in fact, want to come back to Barcelona, but that the Catalans first need to work out the financial details of the move before it can take place.

Despite the fact that Barça is his first choice, other teams like Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid are keeping an eye on his status. He is not ruling out any possibilities at this time and is not closing any doors.
