Quoting Psgtalk, Liverpool’s star Ibrahima Konate speaks openly about the prospect of joining Luis Enrique’s team.
Paris Saint-Germain has a new plan to attract top talents from France. The capital club brought in Lucas Hernandez, Ousmane Dembele, and Randal Kolo Muani last summer.
The change in transfer policy has led some PSG fans to ponder whether their club should consider acquiring Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool. As a native of Paris, the 1998-born center-back was questioned about his desire to play for PSG.
Facing the media, Konate responded, as quoted by Psgtalk:
“Indeed, I am from Paris, but I am now at Liverpool.”
The 24-year-old player is under contract with the Premier League club until 2026. However, the Ligue 1 representatives may still plan to recruit Konate in the future. PSG has not been hesitant to leverage its financial might to enhance its squad. It will be interesting to see whether Konate decides to stay abroad or return to his homeland to play.
Currently, the former Leipzig star is focusing on the French national team as they prepare for the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
