In the previous season, the 38-year-old Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, openly expressed his dissatisfaction with being benched by HLV Erik Ten Hag. This included Ronaldo refusing to come on as a substitute in the dying minutes and leaving the pitch early during a match between Manchester United and Tottenham.
The peak of this situation was when Ronaldo gave a shocking interview to Piers Morgan, where CR7 exposed all the negative aspects of the club and criticized Ten Hag with the statement, ‘If he doesn’t respect me, I don’t respect him.’
This incident led to an agreement between MU and Cristiano Ronaldo to part ways ahead of the 2022 World Cup last year. Subsequently, in January, Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia on a free transfer with a record-breaking world salary.
