The prestigious title of September’s Premier League Goal of the Month belongs to none other than Bruno Fernandes.
Our captain showcased his brilliance with a spectacular goal just moments before halftime at Turf Moor, a strike that proved to be the deciding factor, earning Manchester United a crucial three points in their encounter with Burnley last month.
And the effort, which was helped by Jonny Evans’s pinpoint pass, won the fan poll, beating out other teams like Julian Alvarez and Leandro Trossard.
Watch the amazing work below, in all its glory and from every angle possible. Hannibal, a teammate of Bruno’s, was also named because he scored his first goal for the Reds in their 3-1 loss at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Fernandes won both awards. He finished the season with two goals, the second one a penalty against Nottingham Forest in August that won him the Goal of the Month award for the club.
Fernandes has now won the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award three times since it started in August 2016. He is one of only two players, along with Andros Townsend, to have done so.
After Covid pushed back the season, Bruno won Goal of the Month for the first time in June 2020 for another goal. This time, he scored in a 3-0 win at Brighton. After eight months, the Portuguese player was praised again for his curled shot that went into the top corner against Everton at Old Trafford.
Later, that goal was chosen as United’s Goal of the Season for 2020/21. This goal in east Lancashire could be a candidate for the award in 2023/24, even though there is still a lot of the current season to go.
