An Australian man has spent up to 12,000 USD to get 203 characters from the famous cartoon “The Simpsons” on his back. He hopes that this particular “work” will set a world record.

According to the Huffingtonpost, Michael Baxter, 52, a prison administrator, spent 130 hours for artist Jade Baxter Smith to complete the tattoos on his back.

Baxter said he loves tattoos and started tattooing more than 10 years ago. He is a fan of the movie “The Simpsons” and so he wanted to create something special.

His back now looks like a vivid and colorful painting with movie characters like Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and other members of the Simpson family living in the town of Springfield.

Baxter hopes that with this “work” he will set a world record for the person who tattooed the most cartoon characters.

Previously, Mr. Lee Weir living in New Zealand set a world record for tattooing cartoon characters on body with 41 tattoos of Homer Simpson character on his left arm.

The “painting” on his back made Mr. Baxter famous as online photos of the tattoo quickly flooded the Internet.

“Everywhere I go, I attract people’s attention. Many people compliment my tattoo, especially my wife, children and grandson all enjoy seeing the characters of the movie right on my back,” he said happily.

Painter Jade Baxter Smith also became more famous for the “work” on Mr. Baxter’s back. Now, she said, people call her “the one who portrayed the Simpsons.” At first, Mr. Baxter approached her, presenting his idea, which she assumed he was joking.

Recently Mr. Baxter and artist Smith had an exhibition in Melbourne.
